Makes me wonder what happened to these couples….

Makes me wonder what happened to these couples....

did they abandon their cake toppers? Did they pass away and insensitive relatives give them away? Did they get divorced and just not want the reminder?

I have my parent’s humble cake topper, just a plain bride and groom, similar to the one in the upper left of the photo. It’s about 60 years old.

We had ours which was made out of blown glass that was “in” when we got married. Doves and whatnot. But it got smashed when a shelf is was on collapsed. 😦

  1. I saw a cabinet (probably 2′ x 3′ x 4′, 2 shelves) filled to over flowing with cake toppers at Tinker Town museum in New Mexico… the guy had been picking them up at car boot/ garage/ divorce sales for years…. an impressive accumulation… possibly not to be dwelled upon for too long!

  2. We did not have a cake topper, in fact we did not even have a cake! We had two JUMBO cupcakes for Caleab and I and very fancy cookies for everybody else. It sounds lame, but it was really very nice. Our wedding was guided by simplicity and nature, so we did not want any crazy big desserts. Interesting to think of those cake toppers old owners, though, and all the different scenarios that could have led them to that case 🙂
